12TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The importance of astutely managing the development of a simulcasting network was thrown into sharp focus by diminishing return to tracks and horsemen on increasing handle. The NTRA Wagering Task Force has documented the critical roles played by legal, accounting, mutuel, and administrative managers in constructing a simulcasting network that maximizes its revenue potential.

If there is one item that clearly emerged from the thorough review, it is the absolutely paramount importance of simulcasting to the pari-mutuel industry and its success.

Topics to be covered will include tote systems and their functions now and in the future, illegal bookmaking, reporting requirements, federal laws, public confidence issues, rebating, betting exchanges, and changing host and guest contractual relationships.

SIMULCASTING 101

This popular session on basic simulcasting procedures is recommended for those in their first or second year of simulcast operations. This beginning ‘class’ offers an overview of simulcasting fundamentals as well as a forum for newcomers’ questions.
