DIRECTOR, TRA SERVICES/COMMUNICATION
Duties:
The TRA Director of Services assists in all
TRA-related matters to ensure the organization remains vital and relevant to
its membership.
Its primary duties are in the areas of: information
compilation and distribution within and outside the organization; planning and
executing TRA and industry meetings; monitoring horse industry and pari-mutuel
operational trends; supporting new collective initiatives.
The TRA is a trade association of 44 member racing
associations, has four fulltime employees, is the owner of two subsidiaries,
the Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau and TRA Enterprises, the general
partner in Equibase Holding Partners, LP.
Responsibilities:

Informational Services: TRA Document Database,
Membership Surveys, annual TRA Directory & Record Book, Special Reports,
Press Releases, Correspondence.

Wagering and Technology Analysis and Review. 2020
Committee. Special Projects and Initiatives.

Meeting Coordination and Logistics. TRA Board Meetings,
special ad hoc meetings, Annual International Simulcast Conference.
Performance Expectations:
The Director of Services is expected to have excellent
written and oral communications skills; a thorough knowledge of horse racing
and pari-mutuel wagering; interest in business operations; and the ability to
initiate and complete projects independently of close supervision. Strong
inter-personal skills are required to work collaboratively with a myriad of
member and industry personnel.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with better than average computer
skills.
Place in Organization:
Reports directly to the Executive Vice President and is
second in the organizational hierarchy.
